Cyber Security
Schneider Electric have introduced the following versions of Cyber Security:
- Phase I was concerned with the use of passwords for MiCOM Px4x devices, allowing unused ports to be locked and logging security-based messages. Phase I was largely concerned with device-level security. In Phase I, access rights were defined in levels, these being associated with a password.
- Phase II was concerned with system-wide security, for example allowing the details of people being allowed to access a device being managed by using a central Security Server database; and those people being identified by a username and a password. Instead of the password granting them access to the device, their access rights are determined by their name, role and list of rights stored on the Security Server. Accordingly, password access levels and default/blank passwords, are no longer a useful concept with Phase II Cyber Security.
Accordingly, the way in which these are handled within S1 Studio differs.
Phase I - Cyber Security
Devices equipped with Phase I Cyber Security are accessed by a Password. This can be changed using MiCOM S1 Studio - the default password being AAAA.
Phase II - Cyber Security
The Cyber Security function will work only for those devices which use Schneider Electric Phase II Cyber Security.
Phase II Cyber Security means that you need to enter a Username and a Password.
