Entering the Extended Platform Mode on the Device

This mode is available in devices version -650 and greater than -650 only.

The file transfer mode menus / context menus are available only for devices which are part of the series.

In order to access communication functions offered in menus and context menus of S1 Studio a connection for file transfer mode needs to be created and needs to be set as default.

If no file transfer mode connection is created or if it is created but not set as active, the file transfer related communication functions are displayed but are greyed out. The user cannot operate them.

REMEMBER

If the device is in file transfer mode NO communication using IEC 60870-5-103 possible!

To Enter Extended Platform Mode on the MiCOM Px30 device

  1. On the MiCOM IEDIntelligent Electronic Device. A device that initiates the disconnection of part of an electrical installation, and / or operates a warning signal when a fault or abnormal condition occurs, with minimum disruption of service. May also be known as a Relay./relay, set the device so that the Out-Of-Service LED is lit.
  2. Navigate through the LCD menu and set Parameter 0330 to OfflineWhen there is no communication between the PC and a device, both are said to be offline..
  3. The MiCOM relay now needs to be switched into the special "file transfer mode". This is done on the front panel of the relay by pressing both and keys and at the same time. Then enter the loader password:
  4. The LCD screen now shows the Text File and Software Version Numbers; which means that the MiCOM relay/IED is now ready to be used in this mode.
