FTP Communications

Using FTP communications on a MiCOM product means that data can be stored on an FTP server and then downloaded to the MiCOM S1 Studio software. In this way the data can then be stored on a PC, edited, re-saved and loaded onto a MiCOM IEDIntelligent Electronic Device. A device that initiates the disconnection of part of an electrical installation, and / or operates a warning signal when a fault or abnormal condition occurs, with minimum disruption of service. May also be known as a Relay./relay device.

The data can be copied from the PC to the MiCOM IED/relay using the Modem Communications method. The FTP communications method only supports the the S&S-103 protocol. It is generally quicker to transfer the same amount of data using FTP rather than a modem-based method..

To use FTP Communications:

  1. Click the Programs + Schneider Electric + MiCOM S1 Studio + Data Model Manager menu option.
