Device Text Editor

The MiCOM S1 Menu Text Editor lets you modify and replace the menu texts held in MiCOM Px3x and Px4x relays. For example, you may want to customize a relay so that menus appear in a language other than one of the standard languages.

Version 4.0.0 of the MiCOM S1 Studio software introduces a combined module which means that you can edit Px3x and Px4x-based menus using the same interface; allowing for more consistent and efficient use of the editor.

Typically, you might choose to load a copy of the current menu text file (in a standard language) into the reference column, then type the appropriate translation of each menu entry into the target column.

You can then save this customized menu as a file; and then load it onto a MiCOM device.

To Run the Device Text Editor to Customize a MiCOM Menu:

  1. Click the ToolsDevicegeneric name for any piece of equipment that can be communicated with using Courier. Text Editor menu.
  2. The MiCOM S1 Studio application will then be locked; and the Menu Text Editor application will be opened.
  3. For details of how to use the device text editor tool, refer to the on-line help provided with the tool.
