Export a settings file to Excel (xls) format

Many people wish to export their schemes to other external formats, such as the Microsoft Excel (xls) format. The S1 Studio software can import any Excel (xls) files it has previously exported, as well as other which have been formatted in a suitable way. Generally, the Excel file will include a:

• RelayA device that initiates the disconnection of part of an electrical installation, and / or operates a warning signal when a fault or abnormal condition occurs, with minimum disruption of service. May also be known as an IED. tab, which contains protected read-only details of the relay type, model number and firmware. and
• Settings tab, which contains unprotected details of the relay settings.

Note that the data is validated before the export function is completed.

To Export a scheme in Excel (xls) format:

1. Expand a device in Studio Explorer until you can see the Settings section, then highlight a scheme.
2. Right-click the scheme and select Export....
3. In the "Export Settings" dialog box make sure that the Export to XLS (Microsoft Excel) format option is checked.
4. Check the relevant checkboxes as required, and click the OK button.
5. In the "Save as" dialog select a file name and click the Save button.
6. When the file has been saved successfully, click the Close button.

Note

Limitations build in to Excel mean that there is a maximum number of rows and columns (for example, 65536 rows and 256 columns for Excel 2003).
