Protocols S1 Studio Preferences

The Protocols preferences lets you view and edit the protocols for the communications protocols, including CourierThe communications language developed to provide generic control, monitoring, data extraction and setting changes on remote devices within the substation environment., IEC870-5-103 and Modbus.

To do this:

  1. Select Options > Preferences from the main menu bar.
  2. Expand the Protocols menu and select one of these options: Default connection parameters, Predefined connection parameters or IEC870-5-103 .
  3. If you selected one of the connection parameters option, you wil see a list of available protocols. Highlight the one you are interested in and click the Edit... button to view its details. Use the Edit ConnectionAn active link between a computer and a device through which data can be sent. dialog box to view the details. Click the OK button if you wish to save any changes you have made, or Cancel to return to the previous dialog box without saving any changes. You can also use the Add or Delete buttons to add or remove additional protocol connections; or the Restore Defaults... button to reinstall the original default settings.
  4. If you selected the IEC870-5-103 option, you can define whether you use the Reference Language of the data model or your Regional Language. You can also choose whether you wish to use Telegram Recording in File or not.
