Important notice

Unity Pro requires .NET 3.5 and .NET 4.5.2

Depending on the target Windows version and Windows configuration, .Net versions may be

- not installed

- installed but not enabled ( the related "windows feature" is not set ON )

- installed and enabled

Unity Pro setup tries to automatically install and enable the required .Net on the target Windows if necessary.

On Windows 10 and Windows Server 2012 R2, automatic or manual installation of .Net 3.5 requires an internet connection.

And service “Windows Update” must be started in order to install the .NET Framework 3.5.

If automatic installation of .Net 3.5 fails, please read & follow Microsoft technical notes on .NET 3.5 installation:

Access rights on the computer

Unity Pro V13 needs to have Administrator access right for installing the software.

For Unity Pro usage User access right are sufficient

Nevertheless Administrator rights must be used for updating the Hardware catalog (CANopen, DTM)

PRM DTM requires administrator rights to work correctly.

Note:

- User must check that all directories used by Unity pro are accessible in read write mode.

Check for the Options Management: Options / General / Paths:

- Project Path

- Import / Export file path

- XVM path

- Project settings templates path

- Project settings template file

- Custom Library path

- Working drive

- Log file path

Check the directory c:\UnityProTemp (Hidden directory) has the following rights: Read, Execute and Write.

If these paths are not accessible an error message will appear and the requested operation will fail

- Access rights & Multi instances : As some components are shared, when several instances of Unity Pro are launched, rights access must be the same on all the instances

- In Windows 7 , if UAC (User Account Control) is set, and if Unity Pro is executed without checking "Run as Administrator", system folders can be only be accessed in read only and FFB Libset can not be modified.

- Start Menu: following short cuts must be executed with “Run as Administrator”:
- Remove Unity Pro
- Repair Unity Pro
- Types Library Update

Previous Unity LL984 Library

Containing the LL984 library versions delivered with Unity Pro 6.1 or 6.0 zipped file.

3. Setup procedure

3.1. Please take care to proceed to the following steps before uninstalling Unity Pro

Save existing projects

For all your projects that are in a "built" status (projects that are consistent; projects that are running on a PLC):

Since Unity Pro V4.1 these projects are automatically saved with the extension “.auto.sta”, so archived files are available within the directory where STU files are saved.

For Unity Pro version lower than V4.1, It is mandatory to save all applications as archived files (extension .STA) using the Menu: File / Save archive…

The archive file ensures the compatibility between the different versions of Unity Pro. Opening this file allows keeping the application in a generated state and authorizes the connection in equal mode with the PLC (see STA compatibility rules in the section "Compatibility rules" in the ReleaseNotes.html file).

The STU files created with previous versions are not readable on this version.

Other projects in a “non built” status must be exported as source format (extension .XEF or .ZEF)

We recommend to keep all projects in the export file format (extension .ZEF)

3.2. To be checked before installation

Before the installation, please refer to the recommendations in the "Unity Pro installation manual" on the electronic documentation, chapter "General points"

3.3. Installing Unity Pro for the first time

The operating modes are described in "Unity Pro installation manual" on the electronic documentation, chapter "Installing Unity Pro for the first time"

3.4. Installing an update of Unity Pro on the computer

You must select “Update Unity Pro” as Part Number during the installation phase. (Do not enter serial number)

Note:   You don't need to uninstall Unity Pro before installing a new version, except on the following cases:
-       A Unity Pro Demo version is already installed on the computer
-       You want to install a former version of Unity Pro (e.g. Installing Unity Pro V3.1 on Unity Pro V4.0)

The operating modes are described in "Unity Pro installation manual" on the electronic documentation, chapter "Updating Unity Pro from an earlier version"

After installation of an update of Unity Pro, the security policies are deactivated (Security off).
If they are used, they must be reactivated (tab "policies" of the Security editor)

3.5. Custom Library

- Updating from Unity Pro version greater or equal to V4.1

After installation of Unity Pro V13, the custom library from Unity Pro Vx,y (V4.1, V5.0…) is still available in the initial installation directory C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Schneider Electric\Unity Pro\CustomLibset\Vx.y

This directory is not modified by Unity Pro installation. By default and whatever the version of standard library used, all applications will use the custom library located in this path.

You can create a new custom library dedicated to V13, by selecting the "custom library path": C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Schneider Electric\Unity Pro\CustomLibset\V13 in menu Tools/Options/General/Path.
When using Type library update tool, you have to select the right library path according to the path selected in the Options.

- Updating from Unity Pro V3.1

If you are updating from Unity Pro V3.1 to Unity pro version V13 and you have installed user libraries, you must save these libraries before the update.
In the specific case of Unity Pro V3.1, they are deleted during the set up.

You must proceed as follow:

Open the folder containing the user libraries (CustomLib, Library0…), the default location is: C:\Program Files\Schneider Electric\FFBLibset. Copy the libraries (CustomLib, Library0…) in another location on the disk. After installation of Unity Pro V4.1, the libraries must be restored manually to the folder C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Schneider Electric\Unity Pro\CustomLibset\V3.1

The file Custom.db located in the folder C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Schneider Electric\Unity Pro\CustomLibset\OldCustomdb03.10" must be copied in the previous directory.

- Updating from Unity Pro version lower than V3.1

DFBs and DDTs copied in the Libset (Type library Manager) must be restored manually

The user libraries created (CustomLib, Library0…) are not deleted and remain in their original location (by default: "C:\Program Files\Schneider Electric\FFBLibset\")

After installation of Unity Pro V13, Libraries must be manually copied in the new library folder (by default: "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Schneider Electric\Unity Pro\CustomLibset\Vx.y. (Vx.y is the folder corresponding to the library version used in Unity Pro e.g. V2.3)

The file "Custom.db" located by default in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Schneider Electric\Unity Pro\CustomLibset\OldCustomdbxx.yy.

(xx.yy is the version of the library, e.g. OldCustomdb02.30) must be copied in the previous directory.

3.6. Communication drivers’ installation

Unity Pro install Modbus, USB and Uni-Telway drivers by default.

For other drivers, please open the directory “Communication Drivers” and choose the driver through the name of the file:

All the following drivers are compatible with Windows 7 32/64bits and Windows 10 32/64bits

All the following drivers are compatible with Windows 7 32/64bits

Then follow instructions appearing in the dialogs.

Ethway, FIP FPC10 / FPC20, ISAWAY and Unitelway SCP114 drivers, only compatibles with Windows XP 32bits are not delivered on Unity Pro installation DVD.

They are available by download on Schneider-electric.com (Driver Pack V2.6)

4. License right

4.1. Registration

If it is the first time you install the software on this computer, you need to register within a period of 30 days.
For a demo installation, no registration is required, the software will be automatically available for a period of 60 days.
To register Unity Pro software, you have to launch the registration tool in the Schneider Electric shortcut.
Then follow the instructions displayed on the screen.

4.2. Registration when Unity Pro version greater or equal to V4.1 rights already registered on the PC

If you have Unity Pro registered on your PC your license rights are automatically activated when you install Unity Pro V13.

4.3. Registration when updating Unity Pro version earlier to V4.1 to Unity Pro V13

The license rights management has changed, therefore the right on the PC must be reactivated.

- If you install this update on an authorized PC you may use registration tool located in the menu:
Start / Programs / Schneider Electric / SoCollaborative / Unity Pro / Registration Converter

- If you have a license less than V4.1 not yet registered and you install this update on a new computer, you must install the original version on the PC, by selecting reference and serial number of Unity Pro version used for the first registration, and then registers the product by one of the available means.
Once product registered, install the new version of Unity Pro V13.
Then perform the reactivation of the right with the registration converter as explained in the previous step.

4.4. Registration with Advantys Configuration Software

No registration is required for running ACS V8.0

4.5. Installation on new PC when updating Unity Pro version earlier to V4.1 to Unity Pro V13

Unity Pro version V4.0 (or earlier) is installed on PC (called : first PC)

Unity Pro version V13 is installed on new PC

The license rights on the first PC must be reactivated before they are transfered on the new PC

· install Unity Pro V13 on the first PC where Unity Pro is registered. Select "update Unity Pro" in the Part Number list of the «Product Information » dialog.

· start on this first PC the Registration Converter tool located in the menu: Start / Programs / Schneider Electric / SoCollaborative / Unity Pro / Registration Converter and confirm the conversion.

· Install Unity Pro V13 on the new PC with the new Part Number corresponding to earlier Unity version

(example : if registered version was UNYSPUEFUCD30, prompt UNYSPUEFUV1X )

· Transfer the Unity Pro rights from first PC to new PC (using USB key, or any other mean)

5. Uninstall or Repair

The operating modes are described in "Unity Pro installation manual" on the electronic documentation, chapter "Uninstalling Unity Pro"

Uninstall Unity Pro should be executed from the start program shortcut “Remove Unity Pro” : Uninstall from the Windows Control Panel “Add Remove Program” would not uninstall the Unity Pro PlantStruxure DTM Library , so installation of an older version of Unity Pro (with older version of Unity Pro PlantStruxure DTM Library) would fail.

Uninstall command must be executed with Administrator privilege: Do not launch directly the start program shortcut " Uninstall Unity Pro", this command must be executed with Administrator privilege.

right click on it and select "Run as administrator"

Repair command must be executed with Administrator privilege: Do not launch directly the start program shortcut "Repair Unity Pro", this command must be executed with Administrator privilege.

Note: Repair command does not install Libset files. To update Libset files, it is necessary to uninstall and reinstall Unity Pro

6. Demo Projects

For each type of PLC, a demo project exists and it is copied on the computer during the installation phase. All files are grouped in the user workspace, located in the folder: My Documents\Schneider Electric\Unity Pro. These files that have the Read Only attribute can be modified through the change of this attribute or user may save the project with another name.

7. Update PLC firmware

From now on, you will find Unity_OS CDROM in an electronic format available by download.

If you need to use new features of Unity Pro V13 that require an update of Modicon M580/ M340/ Premium / Quantum controllers's processors or modules with the latest Firmware version, you will find the binaries and documents files needed on the web site :

Droits d'accès du poste de travail

Unity Pro V13 nécessite d'avoir les droits d'accès administrateur pour installer le logiciel.
Pour l’utilisation d’Unity Pro, les droits d’accès utilisateurs sont suffisants.

Néanmoins des droits d'administrateur doivent être utilisés pour mettre à jour le catalogue du matériel (CANopen, DTM)

La DTM PRM nécessite des droits administrateur pour fonctionner correctement.

Note:

- L'utilisateur doit vérifier que tous les répertoires utilisés par Unity Pro sont accessibles en lecture écriture

- Chemin des modèles de paramètres de projet

Vérifier que le répertoire C:\UnityProTemp (répertoire caché par défaut) dispose aussi des droits en lecture, exécution et écriture

Si ces chemins ne sont pas accessibles un message d’erreur apparaitra et les opérations demandées échoueront.

- Comme certains composants sont partagés, lorsque plusieurs instances de Unity Pro sont lancées, les droits d'accès doivent être les mêmes sur toutes les instances

Menu Démarrer : Les commandes suivantes doivent être exécutées par “Exécuter en tant qu’administrateur” :

- Remove Unity Pro (Désinstaller Unity Pro)
- Repair Unity Pro (Réparer Unity Pro)

Contenant les fichiers d’installation des DTM utilisées par les modules Ethernet IP.
Ces fichiers sont installés automatiquement à l’installation d’Unity Pro.
Note 1 : Une mise à jour du catalogue DTM, est nécessaire lors de la première utilisation.

Note 2 : Certaines DTMs de communication ou d’équipement Schneider Electric ne sont pas disponibles dans le DVD Unity Pro V13

3. Procédure d'installation

3.1. Recommandations avant installation

Sauvegarde des projets existants

Pour tous les projets qui sont dans un statut "généré" (projets cohérents; projets en cours d'exécution sur des automates):

Depuis la version V4.1 d’Unity Pro, ces projets sont automatiquement enregistrés avec l'extension ".auto.sta", les fichiers ainsi archivés sont disponibles dans le répertoire où les fichiers STU sont sauvegardés.

Pour les versions d’Unity pro inférieure à V4.1, Il est indispensable d'enregistrer toutes les applications sous la forme de fichiers d'archive (extension .STA) en utilisant le Menu : Fichier / Archiver…

Le fichier d’archive assure la compatibilité des applications entre les différentes versions d’Unity Pro. L’ouverture de ce fichier permet de conserver l’application dans un état généré et autorise la connexion en mode "égal" avec l’automate. (voir règles de compatibilité STA dans la section "Règles de compatibilités » dans le fichier ReleaseNotes.html)

Les fichiers STU créés à l'aide de versions précédentes ne peuvent pas être lus sur cette version.

Tous les projets dans un état "non généré" doivent être exportés en format source (extension .XEF ou ZEF)

Il est aussi recommandé de conserver tous les projets sous un format exporté (extension ZEF).

3.2. A vérifier avant l’installation

Avant d'installer le logiciel, veuillez vous reporter aux recommandations du "Manuel d'installation de Unity Pro" dans la documentation électronique, dans le chapitre "Points généraux"

3.3. Première installation d'Unity Pro sur le poste de travail

Les modes opératoires sont décrits dans le "Manuel d'installation de Unity Pro" dans la documentation électronique, dans le chapitre "Installer Unity Pro pour la première fois"

3.4. Installer une mise à jour d'Unity Pro sur le poste de travail

Vous devez sélectionner “Mise à jour Unity Pro“ comme référence pendant la phase d’installation. (Ne pas saisir de numéro de série)

Note:   Il n'est pas nécessaire de désinstaller Unity Pro avant la nouvelle installation, hormis pour les cas suivants:
-       Installation d'un produit standard en remplacement de la version de démonstration d'Unity Pro
-       Installation d'une version antérieure de Unity Pro (ex : installation de Unity Pro V3.1 sur Unity Pro V4.0).

Les modes opératoires sont décrits dans le "Manuel d'installation de Unity Pro" dans la documentation électronique, dans le chapitre "Installer Unity Pro sur une version antérieure"

Après l'installation d’une mise à jour Unity Pro, les règles de sécurité sont désactivées (sécurité désactivé),
Si elles sont utilisées elles doivent être réactivées (onglet "Règles" de l'éditeur de sécurité)

3.5. Bibliothèques personnalisées

- Mise à jour à partir d’une version d'Unity Pro supérieure ou égale à V4.1

Après l'installation d'Unity Pro V13, la bibliothèques personnalisées d'Unity Pro sont toujours disponibles dans le répertoire d’installation initial : C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Schneider Electric\Unity Pro\CustomLibset\Vx.y

Ce répertoire n’est pas modifié par l’installation de la nouvelle version Unity pro. Par défaut toutes les applications utiliseront les bibliothèques personnalisées situées dans ce répertoire.
Vous pouvez créer des bibliothèques personnalisées dédiées à V13, en sélectionnant le "chemin des bibliothèques personnalisées": C: \ Documents and Settings \ All Users \ Application Data \ Schneider Electric \ Unity Pro \ CustomLibset \ V13 dans le menu Tools / Options / General / Path.
Lors de l'utilisation de l'outil de mise à jour des bibliothèques de type, vous devez sélectionner le chemin des bibliothèques personnalisées correspondant à celui sélectionné dans les options.

- Mise à jour à partir d’une version d'Unity Pro V3.1

Si vous procédez à la mise à jour à partir d’une version d'Unity Pro V3.1 vers une version ≥ V4.0 et que vous avez installé des bibliothèques personnalisées, vous devez sauvegarder ces bibliothèques avant l’installation d’Unity Pro.
Dans ce cas particulier, elles sont effacées durant l'installation.

Vous devez procéder comme suit:

Ouvrir le répertoire qui contient les bibliothèques personnalisées (CustomLib, Library0…) situé (par défaut) dans: C:\Program Files\Schneider Electric\FFBLibset.
Copier le ou les répertoires CustomLib, Library0… dans un autre répertoire du disque dur.
Après l'installation d'Unity Pro, ces bibliothèques devront être restaurées manuellement dans le répertoire (par défaut) C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Schneider Electric\Unity Pro\CustomLibset\V3.1

Le fichier Custom.db enregistré dans le répertoire (par défaut) C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Schneider Electric\Unity Pro\CustomLibset\OldCustomdb03.10" doit être recopié dans le répertoire précédent.

- Mise à jour à partir d’une version d'Unity Pro inferieure à V3.1

Les DFB et DDT copiés dans la bibliothèque (gestionnaire de bibliothèques de types) doivent être restaurés manuellement.

Les bibliothèques personnalisées (CustomLib, Library0…) ne sont pas détruites et restent présentes dans le répertoire d'origine (*) C:\Program Files\Schneider Electric\FFBLibset\

Après l'installation d'Unity Pro V13, ces bibliothèques devront être restaurées manuellement dans le répertoire (*) C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Schneider Electric\Unity Pro\CustomLibset\Vx.y. (Vx.y est le répertoire correspondant à la version de bibliothèque utilisée dans Unity Pro, ex : V2.3)

Le fichier Custom.db enregistré dans le répertoire (*) C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Schneider Electric\Unity Pro\CustomLibset\OldCustomdbxx.yy" (xx.yy correspond à la version de la bibliothèque, ex : OldCustomdb02.30) doit être recopié dans le répertoire précédent.

3.6. Installation des pilotes de communication

Unity Pro vous propose d’installer par défaut les pilotes Modbus, USB et Uni-Telway.

Pour les autres pilotes, veuillez ouvrir le répertoire “Communication Drivers” et choisir le pilote en fonction de son nom de fichier :

Tous les drivers suivant sont compatible avec Windows Seven 32/64bits, Windows 8 ou 8.1 32/64bits

- SchneiderUnitelwayDriverSuite.exe

Tous les drivers suivant sont compatible avec Windows Seven 32/64bits :

Puis suivez les instructions apparaissant dans les boîtes de dialogue.

Les drivers Ethway, FIP FPC10 / FPC20, ISAWAY et Unitelway SCP114 drivers sont uniquement compatible avec Windows XP 32bits et ne sont pas livrés sur l’installation d’Unity Pro.
Ils sont disponibles par téléchargement sur le site Schneider-electric.com (Driver Pack V2.6)

4. Droits de licence

4.1. Enregistrement dans le cas d'une première installation

Vous devez enregistrer votre produit dans un délai de 30 jours.
Pour la version de démonstration, aucun enregistrement n'est requis. Le logiciel sera utilisable pour une période de 60 jours.

Pour enregistrer le logiciel Unity Pro, vous devez lancer l'outil d'enregistrement depuis le menu de raccourcis de Schneider Electric.
Veuillez suivre ensuite les instructions affichées à l'écran.

Pour tout complément d'information, veuillez vous reporter au "Manuel d'installation de Unity Pro" dans la documentation électronique, dans le chapitre "Installer Unity Pro pour la première fois"

4.2. Enregistrement si Unity Pro V4.1 ou supérieur est déjà autorisé sur le PC

Si Unity Pro est autorisé sur votre PC Unity Pro V13 est automatiquement activé après l’installation.

Vous devez sélectionner « Mise à jour Unity Pro » lors de la sélection de la référence pendant l’installation (Ne pas saisir de numéro de série).

4.3. Enregistrement avec une licence Unity Pro V4.0 ou inférieure

La gestion des droits utilisateur ayant changée depuis la version Unity pro V4.1, l’autorisation présente sur le poste doit être réactivée.

- Si vous installez cette mise à jour sur un poste enregistré vous devez utiliser l’utilitaire d’activation situé dans le Menu :
Démarrer / programmes / Schneider Electric / SoCollaborative / Unity Pro / Convertisseur d'enregistrement

- Si vous disposez d’une licence inférieure à V4.1 non encore enregistrée et que vous installez Unity Pro V13 sur un nouveau poste, il faut installer la version initiale sur le poste en sélectionnant la référence et le numéro de série Unity Pro de la version utilisée lors du premier enregistrement et enregistrer le produit par un des moyens mis à disposition.
Une fois le produit enregistré, installer la nouvelle version Unity Pro V13
Effectuer ensuite la réactivation du droit avec le convertisseur d’enregistrement comme expliqué à l’étape précédente

4.4. Enregistrement avec Advantys Configuration Software

Aucun enregistrement n’est requis pour faire fonctionner ACS V8.0.

4.5. Installation sur un nouveau poste avec une licence Unity Pro V4.0 ou inférieure

Unity Pro version 4.0 (ou précédente) est installé et enregistré sur un 1er poste.

L'utilisateur veut installer Unity Pro version V13 sur un nouveau poste.

L’autorisation présente sur le 1er poste doit être réactivée puis transférée sur le nouveau poste.

· installer Unity Pro V13 sur le 1er poste. Sélectionner "Mettre à jour UnityPro" dans la liste des références de la boite de dialogue "Information Produit".

· Sur ce 1er poste, lancer l'utilitaire "Convertisseur d'Enregistrement" disponible dans : Démarrer / programmes / Schneider Electric / SoCollaborative / Unity Pro / Convertisseur d'enregistrement), puis confirmer la conversion pour faire évoluer le droit en V13.

· Installer Unity Pro V13 sur le nouveau poste en utilisant la référence du produit V8.0 correspondant à la reférence originale (ex : saisir UNYSPUEFUV1X pour une ref originale UNYSPUEFUCD30)

· Transferer le droit via une clef USB (ou autre moyen) sur le nouveau poste sur lequel Unity Pro a été installé.

5. Désinstallation ou Réparation

Les modes opératoires sont décrits dans le "Manuel d'installation de Unity Pro" dans la documentation électronique, dans le chapitre "Désinstaller Unity Pro".

Il est préférable de désinstaller Unity Pro à partir du raccourci du menu « démarrer » , « Désinstaller Unity Pro » : la désinstallation depuis le panneau de configuration Windows « désinstaller un programme » ne permet pas de désinstaller Unity Pro PlantStruxure DTM Library. Donc une installation ultérieure d’une version plus ancienne de Unity Pro (avec donc une version plus ancienne de Unity Pro PlantStruxure DTM Library) ne serait pas possible.

la commande " Désinstaller Unity Pro" doit être exécutée avec les privilèges administrateur.

Dans menu "Démarrer Programme", il ne faut pas lancer directement le raccourci " Désinstaller Unity Pro" : la commande " Désinstaller Unity Pro" doit être exécutée en demandant les privilèges administrateur.

Pour cela, Click Droit sur l'icône " Désinstaller Unity Pro" et sélectionner "exécuter en tant qu'administrateur".

la commande "Réparer Unity Pro" doit être exécutée avec les privilèges administrateur.

Dans menu "Démarrer Programme", il ne faut pas lancer directement le raccourci "Réparer Unity Pro" : la commande "Réparer Unity Pro" doit être exécutée en demandant les privilèges administrateur.

Pour cela, Click Droit sur l'icône "Réparer Unity Pro" et sélectionner "exécuter en tant qu'administrateur".

Remarque : la commande "Réparer Unity Pro" ne répare pas les fichiers de Librairies. Pour cela il est nécessaire de désinstaller et réinstaller Unity Pro.

6. Projets exemples

Pour chaque type d'automate, il existe un projet exemple qui est copié sur le poste de travail lors de l'installation du logiciel. Les fichiers sont regroupés dans l'espace de travail des utilisateurs, dans le répertoire: Mes Documents\Schneider Electric\Unity Pro. Ces fichiers en lecture seule, peuvent être modifiés en changeant la propriété du fichier ou en sauvegardant le projet sous un autre nom.

7. Mise à jour du firmware des automates

Désormais, firmwares des automates sont disponibles sous forme électronique par téléchargement.
